Sodas otherwise known as soft drinks are beverages that mostly contain water, sweetener and flavoring agents. Top industries in the business are Coca-cola, PepsiCo, Nestle, Suntory, Dr Pepper Snapple, Red Bull, Danone, Kirin, Asahi Breweries and Ito En. Global market in the soda business sector are leading in United States followed by Ireland, Norway, Canada, Belgium, Australia, United Kingdom, Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark, Austria, Germany, Finland, Italy, France and Japan.

Sodas or soft drinks are carbonated drinks mixed with syrup and other sweeteners. These carbonated drinks are under a great pressure to prevent bubbles or carbon dioxide from escaping. Soda bottles come in different shapes and design. Big companies have their trademark color and logos printed on the body. Some have printed drawings portraying a cold refreshing drink.

Traditionally, sodas or soft drinks are contained in bottles with varying sizes with covers such as crown, caps and cork. Due to modernization and cost effective approaches, these carbonated drinks are now contained in cans and PET bottles. These packaging designs require lesser handling requirements as compared with glass bottles.  Labels are printed in the cans and in the plastics containing them.
