Chilled foods with high temperature control requirements need to be packed with optimum suitability of materials so as not to be affected by external changes especially with the drastic external temperature changes. Also, these foods require being microbiologically safe for food consumption. Foods such as sliced meats, salad dressing, dairy products, sandwiches, pies, and other temperature controlled foods are packed in the most appropriate type of materials to serve as their case. Materials such EPS, foams, plastics with different grades, and other closely packed materials are used. Some technologies use ice wraps to assist insulation, while other use super sealed high grade plastics closed under vacuum to ensure temperature control.
